Uses - massage oil; cooking oil & salad oil; moisturise body, hair & baby; health; immunity; energy source; aids minor skin irritations and more!

Direct Micro Expelling (DME™)

  • an entirely different approach to extracting oil - takes the processing right back to the farm level, enabling rural families on tropical coasts to produce pure virgin oil within hours of opening their coconuts.
  • Coconuts grown and processed organically, without the use of fertilisers or other chemical inputs. Some DME sites already have Organic Certification.
  • The oil is so different, the philosophy behind its production so radical, that it was selected as an ecologically sustainable World Project by EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany.
  • Clear, aromatic and full of natural flavour as produced directly from fresh coconuts.

For moisturising, health & more!

  • It is safe enough to use on babies.
  • For centuries used by traditional healers in India (Ayurveda) and the South Pacific for massage to soothe and cool the body.
  • To alleviate symptoms of eczema, and other milder skin ailments, such as nappy rash.
  • Because the skin absorbs it quickly, it does not leave you feeling sticky.
  • Easy to digest and provides a good source of instant energy
  • Coconut oil is the subject of major scientific research as it appears to have significant anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. In the body, the Lauric acid contained in coconut oil is converted into Monolaurin which seems to inactivate or destroy the "lipid enveloped virus". Examples include: HIV, measles, vesticular stomatitis virus (VSV), herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), visna, cytomegalovirus (CMV), Influenza– Pneumono– Syncytial–virus and Rubeola.
  • Even an effective bio-fuel useful in diesel engines!

For cooking

  • The most versatile of all vegetable oils.
  • Its chemical structure means that it is rapidly metabolised by the body and is an excellent source of energy.
  • Uniquely rich in Lauric fatty acid (> 48%) — a prime ingredient in mothers’ milk which builds up an infant’s immune system.
  • Because DME virgin coconut oil is produced so quickly, its free fatty acid (FFA) level is less than 0.1%.
  • Excellent cooking oil that enhances the flavour of many foods.
  • Not all vegetable oils are natural. Many are extracted with chemical solvents and are highly processed, refined and modified. Most available coconut oil is also RBD (Refined, Bleached & Deodorised). Not so with DME virgin coconut oil. It is produced on farms in the South Pacific by the new Direct Micro Expelling (DME™) technology and is subject to no further processing. It is cold-pressed, pure, natural, organic & unrefined.

Indefinite shelf life

  • Because coconut oil is a saturated fat it is naturally very stable.
  • This oil has an almost indefinite shelf life when kept under preferred storage conditions. [Out of direct sunlight and cool - less than 20°C (70°F)].

Tested for residual pesticides

The Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL) have tested the DME virgin coconut oil imported into Australia for 36 Organophosphate (OP) Pesticides and 21 Organochlorine (OC) Pesticides and has been given a very clean sheet with NO measurable residual pesticides.

Definitions and Labelling

DME coconut oil may be defined and labelled as:

  • "Organic" because it is grown without artificial fertilizers, pesticides, or other chemicals and additives
  • "Cold pressed" due to the relatively low temperatures used to dry the grated coconut prior to pressing.
  • "Hand pressed" because the SAM TM Press is manually operated.
  • "Virgin", because other than expelling by pressure and settling, no other processes have been carried out to purify the oil.
  • "Extra virgin", because it is made from the first and only pressing.

TIPS ON USING COCONUT OIL

The oil will solidify in cooler temperatures – just sit in warm water for a few minutes to liquefy. Keep some oil in travel-size container when have to liquefy often. Just liquefy the smaller amount each time. Saves your time and the shelf life of the oil.

For use as a moisturiser – apply SPARINGLY immediately after shower on to wet skin or hair. You only need a few drops to cover an expanse such as your entire back or torso. Air-dry for 5 minutes, rub in again to check for excess oil, if so pat dry with tissue or towel (if there is residue, use less next time!).

Remember: A little goes a long way - if you are experiencing any greasy effect, you are using too much!
